STEELE CREEK — City Council on Thursday voted 11–0 to remove all Topgolf nets following sustained input from Dilworth residents, who argued the Steele Creek structures—despite being invisible from their neighborhood—posed a broader aesthetic concern to the city’s skyline.
Officials said the decision reflects a commitment to neighborhood character and stakeholder alignment. Topgolf locations will remain open, just without the benefit of physical ball containment.
At press time, the outcome was being described as a win for historic property values and the overall residential experience.
