Not One To Be Outdone, Bank Of America Slaps Own Giant Sign On Uptown Tower

UPTOWN — Not one to be outdone by Wells Fargo’s controversial new signage, Bank of America has officially installed its own glowing red letters atop the city’s most iconic Uptown tower.

The 20-foot letters were helicoptered into place late Wednesday night, approved unanimously by the Charlotte City Council who were reportedly afraid the skyline wasn’t ugly enough after the Wells Fargo sign went up in June.

“Wells Fargo can’t have all the fun,” said Bank Of America CEO Brian Moynihan.

According to city insiders, Truist, Ally, and several other banks are already preparing even larger, uglier letters for their towers, escalating what officials now openly refer to as “an ugly sign arms race.”

As usual, citizens were not consulted about the change.
