SOUTG CHARLOTTE — The Men’s Club of Charlotte has earned the city’s first Michelin star.
The Michelin Guide, which recently expanded its coverage to the American South, described the establishment as “a multisensory experience that blurs the line between gastronomy and gravity.”
“The interplay of salt, sweat, and sauce evokes a primal honesty rarely tasted in fine dining,” one reviewer said, pulling a dark, bristly hair from his mouth. “And the thighs are perfectly seasoned—on the plate and otherwise.”
City officials, who collectively invested $1.65 million a year to bring the Michelin Guide to the South, are already calling the move a success.
“This is exactly what Charlotte cuisine represents,” said one inspector. “Local sourcing, bold flavor, and the quiet hum of Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ playing faintly in the background.”
Within 36 hours of the announcement, the Men’s Club was booked solid through next year, with half the reservations reportedly from out-of-state diners and several enthusiastic European tourists.
“I highly recommend everyone bring their wife and kids to eat here,” concluded the inspector. “For the food.”
