Struggling Bryce Young Transferred To Uptown Halal Cart

UPTOWN — Panthers quarterback Bryce Young has reportedly signed a $15-an-hour contract with the Uptown Halal Food Cart “to rebuild confidence and decision-making under pressure,” sources close to the team confirmed Monday.

The move comes after another inconsistent outing that saw Young complete 19 of 30 passes for 198 yards, two touchdowns, an interception, and a bad fumble. His QBR remains in the low 40s—a number the cart’s corporate manager, Wais Mayer, described as “respectable for a first shift.”

“We all start with humble beginnings,” Mayer told The Charlotten. “Our white sauce became famous, our chicken got the bankers hooked, and now Bryce is learning the system. It’s all about reading options fast—lamb, chicken, combo—and not panicking when the line stretches to the Bank of America building.”

The cart, which began at Trade and Tryon in 2016 and has since expanded citywide, is known for feeding Uptown’s entire class hierarchy: finance bros, construction crews, and fourth graders on field trips. Team insiders say Young’s new environment will test his leadership in a “real no-huddle situation.”

Observers report early signs of progress. Young completed 19 of 30 orders during Monday’s lunch rush, averaging 6.6 seconds per wrap with two successful upsells of bottled water. However, concerns persist over deep-throw accuracy when tossing foil into the trash bin.

Head coach Dave Canales praised the initiative, calling it “a great way for Bryce to see real blitz pressure,” adding that “a hungry line of bankers at noon is more aggressive than most defensive fronts in the NFC South.”

Meanwhile, veteran quarterback Andy Dalton has taken on a mentorship role from the adjacent egg roll food truck, emphasizing fundamentals like “keeping your hands clean and staying out of your own head.”

Young, ever humble, brushed off questions about the optics of the move. “It’s all about executing,” he said. “Chicken, lamb, combo—just gotta make the right reads.”

Fans can expect to see him working the grill through at least Thursday before rotating to the Camp North End brick-and-mortar for “expanded reps.”
